Jazz Musician Gerald Wilson Dies at 96

September 9, 2014 – Gerald Wilson, a jazz great whose career as a performer, composer, bandleader, and teacher spanned the generations, died at his home on Monday, September 8th, 2014, at the age of 96.  Wilson served as an adjunct assistant professor in UCLA’s department of ethnomusicology.  For several years, the Bunche Center presented an award in Gerald Wilson’s name, the Living Legend Award.  Professor Cheryl Keyes was the last recipient.  To read more about Wilson’s multifaceted career, Click Here.wilson_keyes-copy-500x335
