Cornel West Gives Keynote at Conference in Honor of Abraham Joshua Heschel – May 3 & 4

March 17, 2015 – Cornel West will give the keynote address at Moral Grandeur and Spiritual Audacity: A Conference in Honor of Abraham Joshua Heschel.

Theologian Abraham Joshua Heschel was a key figure in social justice movements in the United States in the ’60s and ’70s, including the civil rights movement, the movement against the war in Vietnam, and the transformations of the Catholic Church known as Vatican II. The conference will feature talks by key figures in contemporary Jewish thought and practice, as well as Christian scholars and public figures on Heschel and social justice, his poetry, spiritual practices, and the relevance of his ideas and writings today.
