This spring, the Arthur Ashe Legacy at UCLA team journeyed to South Africa and Zambia, retracing Ashe’s historic travels in the early 1970s through the region. During the visit, the team led student workshops, premiered the documentary Citizen Ashe to more than 1,000 viewers, conducted research in national archives, and recorded new oral histories – advancing Ashe’s mission to connect education, activism, and global dialogue across generations.
