April 27, 2016 – The UCLA Alumni Association announced D’Artagnan Scorza ’07, Ph.D. ’13 as the recipient of the UCLA Award for Recent Graduate Achievement. Scorza is a decorated Iraq War veteran and current board member for the Inglewood Unified School District. He is the Founder and Executive Director of the Social Justice Learning Institute (SJLI), advancing communities to achieve health and educational equity. He also worked with the Bunche Center on educational access issues –including serving as a member of the Alliance for Equal Opportunity in Education, participating in the Center’s CAPAA research project, and working as student Regent on the UC Board of Regents.
