Latest "Fast and Furious" Release Proves Again Diversity Sells

April 17, 2017 — The latest installment of the Fast and Furious franchise, which features a diverse set of leads and black director F. Gary Gray at the helm, is on pace to become the biggest global opening film of all time.  Fate of the Furious opened number one at the domestic box office last weekend, with an estimated $100.2 million, and posted a massive international opening of $432.3 million, for a global total of $532.5 million.  To date, the 16-year-old, eight film franchise has hauled in nearly $4 billion.
