Earth, Wind & Fire's Maurice White Passes at 74
February 4, 2016 —Maurice White, founder and leader of the iconic R & B group Earth, Wind & Fire, passed away at his home in Los Angeles today. He was 74. Famous for its unique blend of pop, jazz, R & B and African rhythms in the late 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, the super group released its 20th studio album in late 2013. Struggling with the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, White stopped touring with the group in 1995.
