This seminar series will focus on the work of Black and Hispanic Researchers and feature a discussion on the importance of a diverse STEM workforce.
7/13: Dr. Maggie Gover, Assistant Dean of Diversity, Inclusion, and Admissions, will lead a discussion about representation in Biosciences
7/27: Dr. Tracy Johnson, HHMI program director and molecular biologist, will lead a discussion on mentoring/mentorship
8/10, 12 pm: Shawntel Okonkwo, Founder of wokeSTEM digital platform and a UCLA graduate student in the Molecular Biology Interdepartmental Doctoral Program (MBIDP), will lead a discussion on science communication, outreach, and cultural relevancy.
